A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHAIR OF GOVERNORS

St Andrew’s Prep and Eastbourne College have been part of one charity, Eastbourne College Incorporated (ECi), since their amalgamation in 2010.

Next year marks a significant milestone - 310 years of combined heritage since their foundation in 1877 and 1867 respectively - and a natural moment to turn the page to the next chapter of our shared history.

The independent school sector continues to evolve, and ECi is firmly committed to ensuring that both schools remain strong, distinctive and exceptional for generations to come. This project is a proactive and carefully considered response to that responsibility - one that honours our shared heritage while shaping a confident and sustainable future.

ECi310 is a landmark initiative that will see St Andrew’s Prep relocate to the Eastbourne College campus by 2029, creating a new, self-contained Prep School at the heart of Eastbourne. United on a single campus, this move will establish ECi as the only all-through independent education provider in Eastbourne for pupils aged 4 to 18.

Following feasibility studies in 2024 and approval from our Board of Governors in late 2025, we are now delighted to share our vision, including early artistic impressions. As this journey continues, we look forward to bringing you with us and greatly value your feedback in shaping what comes next.

Mrs Nicky Eckert BA PGCE

Chair of Governors, Eastbourne College Incorporated

THE LEADING PROVIDER OF INDEPENDENT EDUCATION IN EASTBOURNE

From 2029, Eastbourne College Incorporated will offer a fully connected, co-educational day and boarding education for children aged 4 to 18 on a single campus. With the beach and the South Downs close by, our setting offers a distinctive, healthy and enriching environment for school life.

Rooted in over 310 years of shared heritage, ECi combines academic ambition with strong pastoral care and a genuine sense of community. Pupils are known and valued as individuals, supported to grow in confidence and realise their full potential.

Our strength is recognised externally through a range of national awards and inspections, including our inclusion in the Talk Education Top 250 (2026) and the Tatler Schools Guide (2026), alongside ISI recognition for the quality of our pastoral provision.

With access to excellent facilities and expertise, pupils benefit from a breadth of opportunity and a clear, continuous pathway from early years to sixth form, with consistency and support at every stage.

Carefully managed transition points ensure pupils are introduced to senior school experiences at the right time, supporting a smooth and confident progression from prep through to sixth form.

Together, this creates a sustainable and forward-looking model, securing ECi’s position as the leading provider of independent education in Eastbourne for the future.
