A NEW CHAPTER FOR EASTBOURNE COLLEGE AND
ST ANDREW’S PREP
St Andrew’s Prep and Eastbourne College have been part of one Charity, Eastbourne College Incorporated (ECi) since their amalgamation in 2010. Next year marks the combined 310 year anniversary of their foundation in 1877 and 1867 respectively, and the right moment to turn the page on the next chapter of our shared history.
ECi310 is a landmark project that will see St Andrew’s Prep relocate to the Eastbourne College campus by 2029.
OUR VISION
The new Prep School on the Eastbourne College campus will blend historic buildings with purpose‑designed facilities. It will retain the values, character and philosophy of St Andrew’s Prep, creating a distinctive and compelling environment for learning.
A single, united campus will establish us as Eastbourne’s only all‑through independent school, known for outstanding education for pupils aged 4 to 18.

OUR NEW PREP SCHOOL
To help bring our vision to life, we are pleased to share a series of early visual concepts. These illustrations are at an early stage of development and will continue to evolve as the project moves through the relevant stages, including planning.
Set out below are some of the key features; however these should be read as indicative rather than exhaustive at this stage.
A central location on the campus providing immediate access to the College’s outstanding facilities including sports and swimming
A multi‑purpose hall and specialist art, music and drama facilities
Age‑appropriate classrooms for all year groups together with their own dedicated spaces including SEND and a wellbeing hub
Secure outdoor play and learning spaces within landscaped gardens
A managed ‘kiss‑and‑drop’ provision for safe arrival and collection

OUR RATIONALE
Since 2010, the relationship between our two schools has evolved organically through shared facilities, a Bridge Curriculum, staff working across both schools, and the long-standing natural progression of pupils from St Andrew's Prep to Eastbourne College.
In the context of a changing education landscape, we believe the time is right to strengthen our bond in a bold, intentional and meaningful way.
Feasibility, opportunities and financial benefits for this change have been carefully considered over the last two years, with the board approving the relocation of St Andrew's Prep to the Eastbourne College campus late in 2025.
We believe that ECi310 meets the challenge faced by all prep schools in current economic conditions head-on to ensure ECi thrives for generations to come, safeguarding the history of our two schools.
